Starstruck Deep Beauty Stone

About.  The Starstruck Deep Beauty Stone is our highest quality facial gua sha tool designed to sculpt and reinvigorate the skin. Unlike other gua sha stones typically made from quartz, the Starstruck Deep Beauty Stones is composed of Bian stone, with the most minerals known of any other stone known for their healing properties. Each edge of the tool is intentionally architected to enhance the practice of facial gua sha, which is a traditional Chinese beauty practice.

Known for its rejuvenating properties, Bian stone was created when a meteor struck a mountain in ancient China. It is said to emit ultrasound pulsations, far infrared rays, and negative ions as a result of the cosmic impact — all of which are known for their antioxidant and anti-aging effects on cells and DNA.

Protecting your Starstruck Deep Beauty stone.  We recommend protecting this stone with a padded covering/bag, this natural stone is fragile when dropped on a hard surface.

Uses of Starstruck Deep Beauty Stone.  Its healing properties make Bian stone a magical companion in self-care. It is believed that stones can complement every one of the eight branches of Chinese medicine: moxibustion (warming an area of the body with herbs), acupuncture, feng shui, dietary therapy, exercise, massage, herbal medicine, and meditation.

It’s true! Bian stone can be warmed and charged with moxibustion, used before acupuncture to warm up the skin (that’s how it got a nickname of “needlestone”), it can be decorative in the home, contributing to positive feng shui, its minerals are known to help in dietary therapy (although, of course, always consult a professional before ingesting anything new), can be a tool for exercise, it can be warmed up and used on sore muscles in massage (yes please), it can infuse waters as a part of herbal medicine, and beheld as a soothing, physical anchor during a meditation. Bian’s special properties make it quite a versatile stone, but we love it most for facial gua sha.

Nowadays, Bian stones are often used in hot stone massage, can be used as a precursor to acupuncture, utilized in gua sha or facial gua sha, and are even featured in some healing jewelry.   Don’t let its simple appearance fool you — This stone is pretty magical. See for yourself!

How it’s made.  The stones are pure and authentic medicinal crystals that are carefully selected for their healing properties for the skin as well as their positive effects on the emotional body. This practice of “stone medicine” is an ancient Taoist healing technique.

White “veins” of various sizes may appear on the stone. These veins were formed as a result of the meteor striking the earth and making this stone very unique and powerful.

Delivery process.  The facial gua sha method works by releasing tension in the muscles of the face, smoothing out the fascia, and circulating blood and lymph through the tissues.

It also delivers whole plant actives from our products into the deeper layers of the skin for increased absorption and effectiveness. The result is deeply hydrated, plump, toned, and sculpted skin with a radiant glow.

Results.   Anticipate both immediate and cumulative results over time. The Empress Ritual can be a quick remedy for puffiness and fine lines, but long-lasting results are best maintained with consistent use, 2 to 3 times a week up to once daily.

FAQ’s

Is gua sha appropriate for breakout-prone skin?

The Starstruck Deep Beauty  Ritual is helpful for clearing breakout-prone skin, however, you should not gua sha over active breakouts. The skincare products work well for breakout-prone skin.

How much pressure should I use when doing gua sha?

The strokes should be gentle on the face, especially around the eyes. Think of how gently you would frost a cake — it doesn’t take a lot of pressure to get great results. In fact, when moving lymph, it’s important to use light pressure.

How do I clean my Empress Stone?

Clean your stone prior to each use with warm water and a skin-friendly cleanser or soap. We recommend storing it in a padded pouch as they are relatively fragile. Even diamonds can break when dropped!

How often should I practice gua sha and the Empress Ritual?

For best results, practice at least 3 times per week.  Daily use is encouraged, but not more than once per day.
